Timothy hay is one of the most digestible grass hays and is one of the most popular hay feeds for adult horses in work. The 2 strap “sliced bale” simply originates as a large square bale and sliced with a knife into a smaller more manageable package. The sliced bales are physically smaller in size than a standard 2 string bale, but the same weight. They carry a great advantage in limited storage facilities. The hay is a late-maturing high fiber grass with a moderate protein content. It is a bit more course in its nature. Horse owners have found that Timothy hay promotes a shiny coat, good digestion, bowel regularity, and a healthy weight. It is also excellent for colic prone, protein-sensitive, and overweight horses. This hay is produced primarily by us locally in CT. It also comes from professional growers in areas of NY,PA,OH,MI, and areas of Quebec and Ontario. The bales average 50LBS.
