Western alfalfa is an excellent source of high quality protein and fiber. Alfalfa is high in energy and is an excellent source of vitamins and minerals. This hay primarily comes from Nevada where high altitudes and dry desert conditions create a leafy green consistent alfalfa. When properly cured, alfalfa is the best of the legume hays from a nutrient standpoint. It is most beneficial for athlete horses or cattle with high energy needs due to their moderate to high level of exertion. Typically our alfalfa is 2^nd or 3^rd cutting with a protein greater than 20% and RFV of 200.  This hay is most commonly carried in 3 String 100-125 LB Bales.
